IRS 501(c)(3) determination

The September 28, 2026 letter recognizes ELR as exempt under section 501(c)(3), classified as a public charity under section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Federal exemption is effective September 15, 2026. Contributions are deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Read the accessible HTML determination information. The public PDF removes IRS employee contact details while retaining ELR's identity and substantive determination. Federal recognition does not mean every separate state filing, vendor verification, or grant application is approved.

Current services and program stage

AncientReads tools and guides are free to use now. Physical-book acquisition and distribution remains in startup development. We do not currently publish completed shipment or beneficiary counts or name institutional recipient partners without supported records.

Updates distinguishes corporate milestones and online resources from future distributions. Illustrative reading imagery is not evidence of completed ELR services.

Use of funds

Support may fund books, materials, shipping, delivery, educational-resource development, filing and charitable-registration costs, registered-agent and authorized-address services, bookkeeping, banking, software, and reasonable expenses related to charitable work.

We do not claim that 100% of gifts buy books or publish an unsupported overhead percentage. Accepted campaign restrictions must be reflected in administration of the gift.

Financial reporting and governance

ELR was formed in September 2026 and has not published a completed fiscal-year financial report here. A startup projection is not actual revenue. Financial summaries and applicable public filings will be added as available.

Organizational documents provide for conflict procedures, banking controls, and corporate, contribution, expense, and distribution records. No officer or director compensation was anticipated at formation.

Public-record and donor questions

For available documents, acknowledgments, or spending questions, email admin@educationalliteraryresources.org. We protect private donor and beneficiary information rather than publish bank statements or children's records.
