About ELR

A small nonprofit with a practical purpose.

Books are the starting point. Understanding, access, and thoughtful discussion are the work.

Who we are

Educational Literary Resources, Inc. is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation formed on September 15, 2026. We advance education and literacy by acquiring and distributing books and educational materials and by offering related educational and literary programs.

Our interests include literature, history, philosophy, civic thought, and the humanities. We help readers encounter significant texts directly rather than treating summaries or quizzes as a substitute for reading.

What you can use today

AncientReads, an educational initiative of ELR, offers a Classics Navigator, Classics Arcade, accessible-format guidance, and original reading guides. These services are available without an account or donation.

Readers can match interests to books, consider translation choices, work through discussion questions, and plan a collection. Parents and educators should review editions and content notes when selecting material for younger readers.

Book access: the next part of our work

Our physical-book program is at the startup stage. Donations can fund appropriate books and institutional delivery, along with related program and operating expenses. We are not currently promising specific shipments, dates, or placements.

The program page explains purchasing, recipient selection, delivery, and recordkeeping. Completed distributions will be reported as they occur.
